PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of registers and CPU access loads, in a timing generator which periodically outputs, ordinarily asserts or ordinarily negates a pulse signal output value. SOLUTION: An assert register value is compared with a negate register value; and if they are equal, a pulse signal output value is ordinarily asserted or ordinarily negated.
