PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire resistant covering structural material and its construction method, for applying a fire resistant covering to a structural material in a short time by simple work at a job site. SOLUTION: Instead of a conventional frame construction method, this construction method comprises a preparing process of preparing the structural material being a metallic longitudinal member, a fixing process of arranging and fixing expanded metal in and to the structural material along a side surface of the structural material, a setting-up process of setting up the structural material fixed with the expanded metal in a frame, and a covering process of covering the structural material with a covering structure made of a fire resistant material having the predetermined thickness by adding so as to hide the expanded metal.
