PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of making a uniform glossy feeling within the face of an image. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus 1 is equipped with recording heads 5-8 discharging colored inks, a recording head 9 discharging a transparent ink, and a controlling apparatus 15 controlling the recording heads 5-9. The controlling apparatus 15 determines a total amount of the colored ink per unit area discharged from the recording heads 5-8 according to image data inputted from the outside (inputted gradation value). Thereafter, a relation of the amount B of printing of the transparent ink per unit area to the total amount A of printing of the colored ink per unit area is made to follow the relation: B=α<SB>1</SB>A+β<SB>1</SB>(whereinα<SB>1</SB><0 andβ<SB>1</SB>>0), and the amount of printing of the ink per unit area discharged from the recording head 9 is determined from the total amount of printing of the colored ink.
