PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with a hose prevented from being damaged. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has a flexible hose 3 having one end removably connected to a suction opening 2 of a vacuum cleaner body 1 and the other end connected to an extension pipe 10. The flexible hose 3 is composed of a first connecting member 8 connected to the suction opening 2, a second connecting member 9 connected to the extension pipe 10, a flexible hose member 4 connecting the first connecting member and the second connecting member, a first cover 13 fixed on the first connecting member 8 and covering the overlapped part of the hose member 4 and the first connecting member 8, and a second cover 13 fixed on the second connecting member 9 and covering the overlapping part of the hose member 4 and the second connecting member 9. A protector 15 covering the outer circumference of the hose member is placed on the hose member side of the first cover 13.
