PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission method, an optical transmitter and an optical transmitter receiver, capable of optically transmitting a wide-band carrier multiplexed signal of high quality, by elucidating the distortion characteristics deterioration factor of a photodetector (PD) in high frequency band and suppressing the frequency dependence of the distortion characteristics of the photodetector, and to provide an optical receiver.

SOLUTION: The optical transmission method is provided, in which a transmission signal of an optical transmission part 10A to be transmitted is modulated with a frequency-multiplexed carrier multiplex signal α1, consisting of a plurality of carrier signals and a modulated signal light β is obtained, the modulated signal light β is transmitted from an optical fiber 1, and a transmission signal γ1 is extracted from the signal light β received by an optical reception part 10B after being subjected to O/E conversion to the the signal light β, wherein level adjustment is performed, prior to transmission of the signal light β from the optical transmission part 10A so that the respective carrier signals increase in level, as the frequencies of the carrier signals become higher.
