<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive plate-like silicon to which a low-cost process, like screen printing, is applicable and which can achieve a high cell efficiency; its production method; and a substrate plate and a solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing plate-like silicon, a substrate plate is brought into contact with silicon melt to cause a silicon crystal to grow on the surface of the substrate plate. The substrate plate is characterized as follows: some protuberance on the substrate plate is regarded as a standard; on the circumference of a circle of which the radius is the same as the distance between the above protuberance and a protuberance nearest thereto and of which the center is the top of the protuberance regarded as the standard, there are six protuberances arranged with about the same intervals between them; and the shape of each of the protuberances is preferably a tetragonal or hexagonal cone. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
