PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable camera that realizes functions of a slit camera. SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 consecutively photographs a moving object at the same point, segments rectangular slit images from each image obtained by slit photographing, encodes the segmented images and time count information and records the coded image and the information to a flash memory 38. In the case of reproducing each slit image recorded in the flash memory 38 on a display section 13, each slit image is decoded, the decoded slit images are composited by concatenating them in a direction opposite to the moving direction of the object in a photographing time order and the composited image and the time count information are displayed on the display section 13.
