PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous secondary battery having a high capacity and superior cycle characteristics. SOLUTION: In the non-aqueous secondary battery having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, the negative electrode is fabricated using a silicon alloy or tin alloy. As a silicon alloy, an alloy made of Si and Fe or an alloy made of Si and Ni is desirable, and as a Si content ratio in the silicon alloy, 50 mol% or more of content is desirable. As a tin alloy of the above, an alloy made of Sn and Fe or an alloy made of Sn and Ni is desirable and as an Sn content ratio in the tin alloy, 50 mol% or more of content is desirable.
