PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high refractive index, high dispersion optical glass for precision press forming which has refractive index (nd) of≥1.83 and Abbe's number (νd) of≤26.0, does not contain components harmful to human body at all though having effects of easily decreasing the melting point same as lead oxide or tellurium oxide, has a low temperature softening characteristic that the deformation temperature (At) is≤550°C, is small in the coloring of glass and excellent in mass-productivity and is hardly colored by the irradiation with ultraviolet ray. SOLUTION: The optical glass for precision press forming comprises a composition of 15-29 wt.% P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, 0-2 wt.% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-14 wt.% GeO<SB>2</SB>, 20-35 wt.% in total of P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and GeO<SB>2</SB>, 0-5 wt.% Li<SB>2</SB>O, 3-14 wt.% Na<SB>2</SB>O, 0-9 wt.% K<SB>2</SB>O, 5-15 wt.% in total of Li<SB>2</SB>O, Na<SB>2</SB>O and K<SB>2</SB>O, 2-22 wt.% Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 34-60 wt.% Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-5 wt.% WO<SB>3</SB>, 0-5 wt.% BaO and 0-7 wt.% In<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and has≤550°C deformation temperature (At), refractive index (nd) of≥1.83 and Abbe number (νd) of≤26.0.
