PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of further saving power of a compressor when dehumidifying a cabin. SOLUTION: When this air conditioner dehumidifies the cabin, while circulating internal air at the time of a low outside air temperature, a control device 100 is constituted so that a compressor 20 may discharge coolant in a substantial non-compression state, and a three-way valve 12 may switch and control a coolant flow passage to an expansion valve bypass flow passage 11 side. As a result, the coolant is circulated so that coolant pressure on a high pressure side and a low pressure side in a coolant circulating circuit 10 may be substantially equal, the coolant is condensed in a condenser 30 by utilizing low temperature outside air, and the coolant is evaporated in an evaporator 60 to cool air within air duct 80.
