IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGING HARD DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that maintains the consistency of a hard disk and a method for managing a hard disk. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: a hardware resource used in an image formation process; a program for implementing processes related to image formation; and a hard disk for storing information including images. The image forming apparatus has: usability information indicating whether each of a plurality of divided areas into which the hard disk is divided is being used; backup information by which the usability information is backed up in the hard disk; deletion execution information indicating whether deletion is to be executed in each of the divided areas; and a hard disk deletion means for deleting the information stored in the hard disk, depending on the usability information and the deletion execution information.
