PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming member for electrophotography with a thick intermediate layer and/or a thick undercoat layer having improved charge and elimination properties. SOLUTION: The image forming member for electrophotography or electrostatic copying comprises a support substrate, an undercoat layer, a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer. The thick undercoat layer which more easily eliminates charges is made by doping an undercoat layer with a charge generating pigment having intense absorption to typical erase lamp light. The doped thick undercoat layer ensures elimination energy reduced by≥50 V and exhibits good electrical properties.
