The floor covering is a molded foam product(2) 4-50mm, preferably 6-8mm, thick. A holder(1) for fastening the floor covering in position is either fixed onto the foam molding or is integrated in the latter. Foam density is the cured molded product is 50-150g/l, preferably 60-80g/l. An upper surface layer(6), which may be incorporated in the floor covering, adheres directly to the foam during molding.
