摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can estimate the degree of deterioration of oxidation catalyst based on a parameter different from the number of miles driven of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A filter (41) includes the oxidation catalyst. The exhaust emission control device performs regeneration treatment of the filter by increasing the temperature of the filter up to a target temperature with an exhaust temperature increase means when the regeneration time of the filter comes. The exhaust emission control device includes means (37, 38) for detecting the temperature of a bed of the filter, a means (31) for calculating as an effective regeneration time the value obtained by integrating a period of time during which the detected bed temperature is equal to or higher than a target bed temperature, a means (31) for estimating the particulate regeneration amount which is the amount of removal-by-combustion of the particulates accumulating on the filter based on the effective regeneration time, and a means (31) for calculating the regeneration efficiency of the particulates from the estimated particulate regeneration amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
