PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which enables an image to be used as a proof photograph for an insurance company etc., by embedding the date of photography in the image at the time of photography and automatically embeds it at a natural position by changing the positions and direction of characters to be embedded in the image according to the attitude of a camera detected by a gravity sensor. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a photographing means of photographing an image; an attitude detecting means of detecting the attitude during the photography of the image; and a pattern imprinting means of embedding a pattern in the image during the photography, and the pattern imprinting means changes the position and direction of the pattern according to the detection result of the attitude detecting means during the photography.
