PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of black stripe shaped mis-copy on transfer paper by cleaning dust resident or adhering onto the face of an original platen glass plate. SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus provided with the image reading apparatus having a platen roller at a position, corresponding to the platen glass and carrying out skimming-through, the platen roller is provided with a cleaning means and a suction means is provided downstream of the cleaning means, the cleaning means removes dust on the platen glass face and the suction means accumulates removed dust to other place so as to prevent the glass face from becoming dirty due to the dust once removed.
