PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide setting information of an image display apparatus, such as that of a projector on a displaying image to the user, without displaying through superimposition. SOLUTION: The projector 1 as the image display apparatus includes a watermark-embedding processor 13 which embeds the setting information as a watermark in an image displayed by the projector 1, and an image display processor 14 which displays the embedded image of the electronic watermark. A remote controller, as an information acquisition device which makes information acquisition of the projector 1 possible, reads the watermark from an photographed image of a display image displayed by the projector 1, obtains the setting information of the projector 1, and displays the acquired setting information on own display screen.
