PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the intrusion of dust etc. into a group of optical sheets in a maintenance time for replacing a light source in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 20 in which the light source 28 is disposed on the rear surface side of a liquid crystal panel 22 via the group 32 of optical sheets and a back chassis 31 is fixed to a front chassis 23 on the rear surface side of the light source 28 via a reflection composite material 30, a frame shaped sheet holding chassis 27 to support a rear surface side periphery of the group 32 of optical sheets is fixed to the front chassis 23. Even when the back chassis 31 is detached and the light source 28 is exposed, a state in which the group 32 of optical sheets is held with the sheet holding chassis 27 is maintained.
