PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability of a fork lift provided with a fork possible to be moved right and left. SOLUTION: In the fork lift structured to support a right and a left forks 6R and 6L freely to move right and left with a lift bracket 5 supported by a car body 1 through a mast 4 freely to elevate, a driving means 11 for separately moving the right and the left forks 6R and 6L in relation to the lift bracket 5 is structured to be controlled by a control means 20 in response to operation of a first operating means 14 and a second operating means 15 to be operated to enlarge and reduce a fork interval. When the first operating means 14 and the second operating means 15 are operated at the same time and a centering determining means 215 determines that the fork is not positioned symmetrically in right and left in relation to the center of the car body, the control means 20 controls the driving means 11 to move any one of the right and the left forks 6R and 6L for adjustment of the fork interval.
