<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial printer capable of saving memory for accumulating image data, shortening a printing wait time and restoring compressed image data and also a recording medium which records a control program for the printer. <P>SOLUTION: The printer receives image data from host machinery at every image band to be printed, that is, a printer and the host machinery have a bidirectional communication function and only the image data of a part necessary for the printing of an image band is requested to the host machinery to be received and converted to printing data to be printed. By further providing a compressed image data restoring means, only a part of compressed image data is received from the host machinery and restored to be printed at every image band. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
