PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture a forging die as a whole by performing rapid cutting, maintaining the tool life, and omitting a grinding process. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for this invention employs a surface-reinforced ball end mill as a cutting tool 3 and includes a cutting process to cut a die material under the condition that the relationship among a tool projecting length L (mm), a ball end mill nose radius R (mm), a tool rotational frequency A (rpm), and a tool feed rate B (mm/min) satisfies the formula (B/A)<SP>2</SP>×(L/(2×R))=0.01-0.05.
