PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable electronic device which can inform a user of its own abnormality when its operation is obstructed due to an electromagnetic noise and a failure of a nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: In the electronic device in which a variety of data are communicated between a nonvolatile memory 28 and a microcomputer 10, the microcomputer 10 reads the same data twice from the nonvolatile memory 28 and determines whether the data are the same. When the data are not the same, the checking of communication abnormality for reporting the occurrence of the abnormality, as a communication failure, is carried out when reading.
