PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal and an antenna system capable of enhancing the mounting efficiency, while retaining the antenna characteristics of a plate antenna. SOLUTION: The middle part of the plate antenna is cut nearly into a rectangular shape, to form an antenna 1 having an air gap part 15. Since the current from a feeding part 13 of the antenna 1 is distributed to antenna elements 11, 12, the electrical dimensions of the antenna 1 are the same as those of the plate antenna, before the air gap part 15 is cut. Thus, the antenna 1 has antenna characteristics equivalent to that of the plate antenna. When this antenna is mounted to an apparatus, prescribed components are mounted to the air gap part 15 of the antenna 1.
