PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively defrost a cooler and ensure cooling efficiency during cooling in a refrigerator. SOLUTION: The refrigerator with a glass tube defrosting heater 7 disposed below the cooler 3 to defrost, is provided with a heater top cover 9a preventing defrost water from coming in direct contact with the glass tube defrosting heater 7 when the defrost water drips from the cooler 3 during defrosting, while not disturbing the flow of return air 15 flowing through the cooler 3 during cooling. During cooling in the refrigerator, ventilation resistance of a ventilation path of return air to the cooler is thereby reduced to enhance cooling efficiency. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
