PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a space under an elevator 9. SOLUTION: The cargo elevating device for a marine vessel is provided with the elevator 9 for supporting a cargo 7, an elevator elevating means 21 for elevating the elevator 9 between an elevator raising position and an elevator lowering position, and a deck cover plate 45 arranged inside a pit. When the elevator 9 is lowered from the elevator raised position to the elevator lowered position, the deck cover plate 45 is lowered from a deck cover plate raised position to a deck cover plate lowered position with the movement of the elevator 9, and when the elevator 9 is raised from the elevator lowered position to the elevator raised position, the deck cover plate 45 is raised from the deck cover plate lowered position to the deck cover plate raised position with the movement of the elevator 9.
