PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an appratus for detecting a meridian point by which a position of the meridian point can be accurately and easily measured using difference between biophoton discharging properties of the meridian point and a non-meridian point. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a magnetic field application unit for applying a magnetic field to a specified part of a living body, a biophoton measurement unit for measuring the biophotons emitted from the living body, and a meridian point point determination unit for determining whether or not a specified part is the meridian point based on the biophotons measured by the biophoton measurement unit. Then, in the case magnetic field stimulation is applied to a specified part of living body, volume of biophotons comes out from the specified part, and volume of biophotons which comes out from another point of the living body which is not the specified part, are compared, and whether or not it is the meridian point can be ascertained.
