<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator capable of obtaining electric power by using its motion not only in lowering a passenger cage but also in raising it and effectively using the electric power as a part of an electric power source of electrical equipment of the passenger cage. <P>SOLUTION: This elevator is constituted so that a generator 23 and a battery 30 are provided on the passenger cage 5 suspended in an elevator shaft of a building by a 2:1 roping method through a main rope 4, power generation is made by driving the generator 23 by the rotating force of a cage sheeve rotating following lifting and lowering of the cage 5, and storing the electric power by the battery 30 so that the stored electric power is used as an auxiliary electric power source of a ceiling lighting system 31 of the cage 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
