PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect always appropriately sensitivity without receiving the influence of a mask etc., in a method and apparatus for detecting the sensitivity of a photosensitive material using an exposure device equipped with a spatial optical modulation element having a multiplicity of two-dimensionally arrayed pixel sections. SOLUTION: A plurality of images 10 for sensitivity detection constituted by dispersing spot images of a plurality of stepwise increasing numbers into respective prescribed units are formed on the photosensitive material and the sensitivity of the photosensitive material is detected on the basis of the plurality of the formed images 10 for sensitivity detection.
