PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin-shaped battery showing high leakage-resistant property even at usage /preservation under an environment of increasing internal pressure of the battery, capable of maintaining a discharging property worth a practical use. SOLUTION: The coin-shaped battery houses a power generating element having a cathode 6 and an anode 4 in a shallow bottomed cylinder-shaped battery case 1 serving as a cathode terminal, and has a sealing plate 2 serving as an anode terminal arranged at an opening of the battery case 1 through a gasket 3. The sealing plate 2 has a flange part 9 at a bottomed cylinder-shaped opening in a direction contrary to the battery case 1, and an extending part 10 extending in a direction of the cylinder and a turn-up part thereof 11 are formed at the tip part of the flange part 9. A swollen part 13 located on a bottom part 16 of the battery case 1 at a part at least further inside than the cathode and protruded from the bottom part 16 outside the case is formed on the battery case 1, and a cathode ring 7 holding the cathode 6 is arranged on an inside bottom face of the battery case 1.
