PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing circuit capable of realizing contour emphasis of high quality. SOLUTION: Pixel data of a plurality of pixels received from a port P1 includes one among R, G and B color information items. A first color separation circuit 26 applies color separation processing to the pixel data according to a first coefficient and a second color separation circuit 28 applies color separation processing to the pixel data according to a second coefficient. The first and second color separation circuits 26, 28 outputs first and second color separation pixel data each including all R, G, B color information items, respectively. A subtractor circuit 34 generates contour emphasis data, reflecting the difference between the first color separation pixel data and the second color separation pixel data. A contour emphasis circuit 52 applies contour emphasis to luminance data outputted from a pre-processing circuit 38 according to contour emphasis data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
