PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dither pattern generating apparatus, a dither pattern generating method, and a dither pattern generating program capable of excellently reproducing an image. SOLUTION: A flowchart indicating dither processing executed by an image processing system includes: steps S101 to S105 of printing a first measurement pattern including a plurality of density detection patterns, measuring the density, and detecting a region the change amount of the density of which is higher from the original density having been measured in advance; steps S107, S109 of generating a second measurement pattern wherein the number of measured patterns is increased for the region; a step S111 of measuring again the density by using the second measurement pattern; a step S113 of estimating aγcharacteristic curve; and steps S115, S117 of generating a dither pattern wherein a linearγcharacteristic is indicated on the basis of the estimatedγcharacteristic curve.
