PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a gasket formed of a plurality of laminated sheets or laminated steel plates having excellent air tightness at low cost, using a low-output and small-sized press device. SOLUTION: According to this method of forming a thick part on the surface of the steel plate incorporated in the gasket, at least one recessed marking 38 on the surface 40 where to form a thick part using a punch 42, and the punch 42 is driven to form a projecting part 44 for forming the thick part in the periphery of the recessed marking 38.
