PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a clutch drum by which strength can be sufficiently secured and cost reduction can be achieved, and the clutch drum. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a clutch drum by subjecting a single material to drawing, the diameter of the single material is made larger than a boss, and the recess is made higher than the height of the boss. After that, compression working is applied to reduce the height of the recess with the diameter of the recess reduced.
