PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor operated valve which has excellent valve characteristic, allows miniaturization of a rotary drive, achieves simplified configuration, and offers outstanding productivity and economy. SOLUTION: The motor operated valve comprises a rotary shaft 21 rotating through the medium of rotation of a rotor 23 by a stepping motor, and a valve element 15 put into separation from or contact with a seat 12d formed in a valve body 12 driven by the rotary shaft 21. The valve body 12 is moved vertically only by rotary motion of the rotary shaft 21. The valve body 12 is shaped so as not to protrude through a seat hole 12e formed in the seat part 12d. For this purpose, a lid 15c for covering an opening of the seat hole is formed on the seat hole 12e side of the valve body 12.
