PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft calender apparatus eliminating the interference with an external heating apparatus when a metal roll is moved and reducing the working man-hour during regulating operation, maintenance and inspection. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with roll pairs 2A and 2B in which the metal roll 3 having an internal heating apparatus built therein and an elastic roll 4 are oppositely arranged. The apparatus is composed so that one roll 3 or 4 of each of the roll pairs 2A and 2B can be moved and pressed toward the other roll 4 or 3. Each electromagnetic induction type external heating apparatus 19 splittable and controllable in the roll shaft direction is arranged oppositely to the outer peripheral surface of the metal roll 3 in the roll pair 2A and 2B. The metal roll 3 is mounted on a shaking arm 11 in the roll pair 2B so as to be movable. The external heating apparatus 19 is installed in the shaking arm 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
