PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration apparatus which is used for filtering an impure substance in water to be treated, is made compact and has a long life. SOLUTION: This filtration apparatus is provided with: a first cylindrical water-passable member 2a housed/arranged in a cylindrical cartridge case 6 while being parted from the inner peripheral wall of the cartridge case 6; a second cylindrical water-passable member 4 arranged inside the first water-passable member 2a while being parted from the first water-passable member 2a; a first holding plate 2 positioned at one end of each of the first water-passable member 2a and the second water-passable member 4 for holding these water-passable members 2a, 4; a second holding plate 2b positioned at the other end of each of the first water-passable member 2a and the second water-passable member 4 for holding these water-passable members 2a, 4; and an activated carbon layer 3 which is arranged between the first water-passable member 2a and the second water-passable member 4 and in which activated carbon is packed for removing the impure substance in the water to be treated.
