PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube for an endoscope having an excellent curving operablilty whose shape does not change even the tube is bent repeatedly, and also to provide an endoscope provided with the same. SOLUTION: The flexible tube (an insertion section flexible tube 1) for an endoscope of the invention has a tubular core member 2 and a shell 3 covering the outer circumference of the core member 2. The core member 2 comprises an inner spiral tube 21A formed by winding a strip material spirally, an outer spiral tube 21B formed on the outer circumference of the inner spiral tube 21A by winding the strip material spirally in the direction opposite to the inner spiral tube 21A, and a mesh tube 22 covering the outer circumference of the outer spiral tube 21B. The width of the strip material on the outer circumference of the inner spiral tube 21A is smaller than that of the strip material on the inner circumference of the inner spiral tube 21A. In addition, the width of the strip material on the inner circumference of the outer spiral tube 21B is smaller than that of the strip material on the outer circumference of the outer spiral tube 21B.
