SHAFT SEAL DEVICE AND COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device capable of stably supporting the body portion of an elastomer lip ring from a back face side even though a rotary shaft is decentered, and a compressor having the shaft seal device.

SOLUTION: The elastomer lip ring 44 is constituted by forming a lip portion 44c coming close contact with the outer peripheral face 17a of a drive shaft 17 at the edge of the body portion 44b extended in a tubular shape to the inside of the compressor. A pressure resistant reinforcing member 45 has a backup ring 52 and a stopper ring 51. The backup ring 52 is movably engaged with the outer peripheral face 17a of the drive shaft 17 and supports the body portion 44b of the elastomer lip ring 44 from the backside face 44b-1 side. The outer peripheral portion of the stopper ring 51 is held by a case 41. The inner peripheral portion of the stopper ring 51 abuts and contacts with the backup ring 52 and inhibits the same from being moved and spaced apart from the lip portion 44c in a direction along the axis line L of the drive axis 17 and allows the backup ring 52 to be relatively moved in a radial direction.
