<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium with high durability, which is excellent in repeated recording characteristics and light fastness. <P>SOLUTION: In this thermal recording medium 10, at least one functional layer 5 is formed as a film in the surface direction of a supporting substrate 1.
