<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the degree of freedom in the arrangement of an exposure scanner with respect to a photosensitive body. <P>SOLUTION: In a color laser printer 1, each scanner 60 as an exposure scanner is provided at a position on the side face side of a developing unit 50 not facing the surface of a photosensitive drum 41 as a photosensitive body. Each scanner unit 60 emits a laser beam for scanning the photosensitive drum 41 in the direction perpendicular the rotational axis of the photosensitive drum 41. At a position facing the surface of the photosensitive drum 41, a last mirror 70 is arranged such that the reflective surface has an angle of 45° to the direction of rotational axis of the photosensitive drum 41. A laser beam being emitted from the scanner unit 60 in the direction of rotational axis of the photosensitive drum 41 is reflected and its advancing direction is converted by 90° before the surface of the photosensitive drum 41 is irradiated with the laser beam. With such an arrangement, a process cartridge 40 comprising the developing unit 50 as a structural element can be attached removably from above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
