<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake device having simple construction with no power consumption for establishing an automatic parking brake condition and releasing a parking brake using the output hydraulic pressure in a master cylinder while informing a vehicle driver of the parking brake released condition. <P>SOLUTION: A parking piston 103 is slidably fitted to a casing 102 for establishing the parking brake condition with forward moving operation in response to the operation of parking control hydraulic pressure. A lock mechanism 105 has locking operation in response to the forward moving operation of the parking piston 103 to mechanically lock the parking piston 103 at a forward movement position and unlocking operation in response to the operation of output hydraulic pressure in the master cylinder. It is provided in the casing 102 at the rear side of the parking piston 103.
