PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a long driving life for an organic electroluminescent element which uses a luminescent material using a phosphorescent dopant material having an electron attracting group. SOLUTION: This luminescent material is composed of a host material and the phosphorescent dopant material having the electron attracting group, and the features of this luminescent material is that the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)level is lower than the LUMO level of the dopant material, and the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)level is lower than the HOM of the dopant material.
