PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a magneto-optical recording medium of an optical modulation direct over-write system in which an initializing layer having high Curie temperature and coercive force can be stably magnetized without increasing manufacturing processes using an external magnetic field of severl kOe at room temperature. SOLUTION: Stable magnetization of the initializing layer can be performed by depositing an initializing auxiliary layer magnetized in one direction before the initializing layer is deposited.
