PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent capacity waste by facilitating folder management leaving no unnecessary empty folders upon file operations without requiring attention to folder structure. SOLUTION: Even if a user deletes a file with no attention to folder/file structure, a CPU 21 of a DSC 2 detects whether a folder in a file management part 25 has become empty or not, and if it is empty, automatically deletes the folder from the file management part 25 to leave no unnecessary empty folders in the file management part 25, which can facilitate folder management and suppress capacity waste.
