PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide disaster aiding apparatus and method capable of selecting a more suitable evacuation route as to disaster aiding apparatus and method for selecting an evacuation route when a disaster causing the diffusion of toxic substances occurs. SOLUTION: The disaster aiding apparatus is provided with a site information collection part 14 for collecting site information indicating the situation of a building from a plurality of sensors 3 dispersed and arranged in the building, a route separation part 15 for separating a plurality of routes included in the building into evacuation routes for allowing evacuees to evacuate and an exhaust route for allowing toxic substances to pass on the basis of site information and an evacuation route presenting part 16 for displaying evacuation routes on a plurality of presentation devices 5 dispersed and arranged in the plurality of routes.
