<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to secure an opening area of a fluid communication hole penetrated through in the laminating direction, and to obtain desired power generation performance by a compact constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell 12 is equipped with electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 30 and a first and a second metal separators 32, 34 to pinch the electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 30. At an oxidizer gas supply communication hole 36a, a fuel gas supply communication hole 40a, an oxidizer gas discharge communication hole 36b, and a fuel gas discharge communication hole 40b adjacent to four corners of the fuel cell, and a tilted part 42 is installed at a site opposite to respective corners of the fuel cell 12.
