PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of preventing an inner liner from being locally thinned, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire comprises a carcass 14 toroidally astride a pair of bead cores 12, a nylon chafer 16 provided on a bead part 11 along the carcass 14 on the inner side of the carcass 14 in the radial direction of the tire, an inner liner 20 provided on an inner cavity face side of the tire. The inner liner 20 is provided to overlap an outer end 16P in the tire radial direction of the nylon chafer 16. As a result, in the tire part in which the distance in the tire radial direction from a heel point K is within a range of 80-120% of the distance H1 in the tire radial direction between an outer end 16E in the tire radial direction and the heel point K, the fluctuation of the thickness d of rubber material to constitute a portion from a cord of the nylon chafer 16 to an inner cavity face of the tire of the inner liner 20 is set to be within 10% of the thickness d1 of the rubber material at the outer end 16E in the tire radial direction.
