AUTONOMOUS MOVING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an autonomous moving apparatus give a road to other moving objects to facilitate smooth movement of the other moving objects. SOLUTION: The autonomous moving apparatus is provided with a running control means which is provided with: a storage means for storing a map of an operation area and various parameters for running; an interface for input of a destination and operation commands; a route generation means for generating a route to the destination; an circumstances recognition means for recognizing obstacles and the position of the apparatus itself; and a running means for running and recognizes the position of the apparatus itself on the map on the basis of information obtained by the circumstances recognition means and controls the running means up to the destination while avoiding obstacles. The running control means has a stay start signal detection means which detects a stay start signal for avoiding other moving objects, and the running control means causes the apparatus to stay in a stay area for avoiding other moving objects, which is prestored in the storage means, when detecting the stay start signal by the stay start signal detection means.
