PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing n-butenes in high yield with improved conversion of isobutene in an isomerization reaction of the isobutene. SOLUTION: Steam in an amount satisfying the relation of water/isobutene (mmol/mmol) =0.1-4,000 is allowed to coexist with the isobutene in the reaction for producing the n-butenes by isomerizing the skeleton of the isobutene in the presence of an activated alumina catalyst.
