摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-numerical-aperture molded glass optical element capable of narrowing down a laser beam. SOLUTION: The method for molding the optical element is one for molding an optical element in which the top face of an outer edge flange more outer than the flange adjacent to the optically functional face is formed in a position slightly higher than that of the vertex of the optically functional face, and a protrusion for preventing an adhesive from flowing into the optically functional face is formed on the outer edge flange, wherein the protrusion is formed on the outer edge flange by press-molding a glass material by using a molding die which is provided with a core for molding the optically functional face and the flange parts and in which slant milling is applied to the front end of a core fit hole into which the core is fitted or the front end of the core and transferring the profile of the groove formed by the slant milling.
